The current inflationary period began in March 2020, when the Federal Reserve (Fed) decided to support any and all spending by Congress for virus control measures. Congress approved this spending through the issuance of debt, which was backed by the full faith and credit of the US government and purchased by the Fed using newly created money.
The consumer price index has increased by 7.1% in the past year, which is a significant concern. While the rate of increase may have slowed slightly from the previous month, the price increases in specific sectors, such as food at home (10%), food at restaurants (12%), fuel oil (65.7%), and transportation services (14.2%), are still shocking statistics.
The belief that the situation is improving is largely based on fiscal wizardry in which the Fed somehow calculates the CPI based on handpicking sectors for its report. Changes in pricing are not evenly distributed and shift from one sector to another. Not only does the Fed’s algorithm hide reality, but it also erodes the people’s trust in the “full faith and credit of the US Government.”
Many individuals and businesses received financial assistance in the form of checks from the government, and some industries, saw their profits increase. However, not everyone benefited from this situation. Children could not attend school, and businesses in certain industries, such as hair and nail salons, restaurants, and other small businesses, were forced to shut down. Additionally, the Fed's decision to keep the federal funds rate at less than 0% for 14 years led to a search for higher returns in speculative investments, providing the illusion of growth.
During this period of artificial economic development funded by the Federal Reserve and an out-of-control congress, some businesses became so prosperous that they no longer prioritized profitability. Instead, they focused on issues such as environmental, social, and governance (ESG), diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and collaborated with the government on surveillance and censorship. This shift in focus contributed to corporate America's adoption of left-leaning ideology and the abandonment of traditional support for free enterprise and free speech.
The fiscal voodooism employed by the Fed resulted in significant support for Democrats among businesses, which had negative consequences for American culture and politics. The recent revelations about the practices of Twitter's management, including their lack of concern for profits and their selective censorship of their customers based on political ideology, highlight this issue.
The actions of Twitter 1.0’s C-Suite team, including their false statements under oath about their censorship policies and their prioritization of ideology over profits, demonstrate the negative effects of an economy fueled by easy money. This lack of restraint allows for the proliferation of extreme ideologies and undermines free market capitalism as well as the constitution of the United States.
The economic solution to the pandemic (the gross printing of money out of thin air) has significantly reduced the dollar's value and highlighted the tiered system of power that now exists in America. Those closest to the money spigot receive all of the rewards.
The only good news in this is that the negative consequences of massive overspending by Congress have been partially offset by the exposure of unethical practices and collaboration with the government to undermine privacy and freedom of speech at major tech and media companies. Had Elon Musk not spent 44 billion dollars to purchase Twitter, the level of corruption would have remained in the realm of “conspiracy theories.”
The great heist of the American people is underway, and it will be up to its citizenry to fight back. No one likes to be robbed. If the authorities are in on the heist, it’s left to us to defend ourselves.
Have a great day. Stay sharp. Pray. Be ready.
