Glad to know that the podcast is AI because I listened to it before reading that it was an AI generated podcast and I kept thinking this is so fake. Welp, I guess it is?
It is good to know that I can detect AI. That is a little creepy.
Mr. Nichols, I am very concerned about children using AI to write papers etc. etc.I know you are principal of a Christian school. How are you dealing with potential problem of AI in the classroom? What is your school’s policy?
I recognize that AI is an integral part of today's world, and I am committed to helping our students navigate this new landscape with integrity and a dedication to original work. We encourage the responsible use of technology as a tool to enhance learning while upholding the values of honesty and personal effort. By fostering an environment that prioritizes ethical behavior and authentic academic endeavors, we aim to prepare our students to use AI thoughtfully and responsibly both in their studies and future careers.
Thank you. I don’t know how I would handle it myself.
I homeschooled my kids with lots of books! Hardly any computers or screens. We had lots and lots of discussion all the time. I wouldn’t do it differently. They are all doing very well as adults.
One thing to be very aware of if your students are on computers a lot is the damage of blue lights. Hopefully the blue light can be blocked on their devices.
I love C&C. I listen to it on my commute. But I often have to stop and read it because the built-in audio converter doesn’t do it justice.** It doesn’t know how to verbally emphasize italics, for example.
**But that is not safe, since it means having to take my eyes off the road.
Can’t wait to listen to this to see how well it does.
Now that I’ve listened to it, that’s scary! If you were not told that that was AI, there’s no way of figuring that out. Wow. Just wow.

Crazy right! You can tell it's AI, but to think that it can function at this level so early in the AI revolution is just mind blowing.

This is very concerning. Parents and educators need to know how scary AI is. Children are under attack.
